Why must I set up control points?

We employ GPS coordinate points to locate the dataset on the map; therefore, control points must be created for placement on the dataset. Currently, we are showing the dataset's location on a flat map; consequently, the dataset's location on the map can be determined using two control points from the dataset and the GPS coordinates of the matching location.

Why must I set up local coordinates?

Local coordinates are the (x, y, and z) coordinates computed within the dataset using the center of the dataset as the origin. Control points are located on top of the dataset by local coordinates.

How can geographical coordinates be obtained?

Please collect them using a total station, RTK, or other suitable equipment for geographical mapping.
